Conditions and settings are also powerful customization options available at the Subsequence level, giving you full control over the execution of subsequences, i.e., when it should pull the leads or run the workflow steps to align with your outreach goals.

Follow the below-mentioned steps to configure the subsequence’s settings and conditions.

  1. Open your campaign in edit mode.

  2. Click on the Subsequences section on the top navigation bar of the campaign page.

3. From the subsequences list, select a subsequence and click on the edit icon.

4. When the subsequence is opened in edit mode, click on Conditions in the top navigation bar.

5. The conditions and settings will appear on the same page.

Subsequence Conditions

The following four conditions can be applied at a subsequence level:

  1. Add leads based on the lead categories: Need to define the category as explained below.

  2. Add leads based on the text contains: Need to specify text as explained below.

  3. Add leads when leads reply: No further configurations. Upon selecting this, the leads from the parent sequence will be added to the subsequence right after they respond to an email of the parent sequence.

  4. Add leads when leads reply (Except out of office & Automatic Replies): This condition specifies that the leads will be added to the subsequence only when their reply is not automated and is not about out of office (OOO) message.

You can select any of these conditions and configure them as per the business needs.

❗Only one condition can be applied at a time.

1. Add leads based on lead categories

Upon selecting this option from the condition dropdown, another field will appear with a dropdown option. Select the desired category from the dropdown. These categories are more like labels assigned to the leads in the parent sequence based on their response type or behavior.

Upon selecting a specific category, the leads will be added to the subsequence only when they are labeled with the selected category. For example, if you select the Out of Office option, only those leads will be pushed into the subsequence whose reply contained “out of office” message.

2. Add leads based on the text contains

Similarly, using this option, you can set a condition based on the text in the lead’s response. The following two fields appear for you to configure this condition.

i. Add if the reply contains the following text: Enter the text based on which the lead should be added to the subsequence. For example, if you want to add leads who are interested in getting further details, then you can enter the keyword “interested”, indicating that the condition is true if the lead’s response contains the keyword “interested”.

ii. And do not contain the following text (optional): This gives you another level of customization of the condition. For example, if a lead’s response contains the “interested” keyword, but they also mention something like “do not call me, and I will get back to you myself”, then you don’t want to add these leads to the subsequence. To avoid such leads, specify “do not call me” in this field.

Once both fields are specified, the leads will only be pushed to the subsequence when both conditions are fulfilled. Considering the above example, only those leads will be added to the subsequence whose response contains “interested” and does not contain “do not call me”.

However, if you left the second field empty, only the first condition will be verified for adding the leads to the subsequence.

Subsequence Settings

The settings section has a checkbox labeled “Bypass Email Accounts’ Daily Sending Limits.” Checking this checkbox will send subsequent emails even if the account's daily sending limit for sending a specific number of emails is met.

👉 A subsequence’s daily email limit can be configured under Schedule.

❗Once you have configured the conditions and settings, click the Save button at the bottom of the page to save the configured options.
