Personalizing cold emails is a real trick to hook the audience! Well, pipl.ai allows you to personalize your messages by using the built-in variable placeholders as well as custom-variable placeholders. What else do you need to level up your cold email marketing game?

But, how does it happen? While importing leads via CSV upload, you can introduce custom variables in the system. For example, you had the column “Designation” in your CSV. So, this variable will be imported as a custom variable in the system. Learn more about it.

👉 All emails are created under Sequences.

Whether you want to personalize the email subject or email body, follow these simple steps to add variables in the text editor for the subject as well as the email body.

1. Place the cursor where you want to insert the variable.

2. Click the double braces {{ }} button given next to the Subject field.

3. The dropdown will appear showing the list of variable placeholders for the columns that were imported for the leads in that campaign. It will also show the variable placeholder for the custom column. The custom variable will have the prefix “custom” in it. For example, {{custom_designation}}.

4. Once, you have added the desired variables in your email subject or email message body, you can either preview or click on the Save All button to save your edits.

👉We have added the following variables in the example shared in the image below:

  • {{first_name}}

  • {{custom_designation}}

  • {{company_name}}

  • {{sender_signature}}

5. You would want to see what your email looks like at the recipient’s end, so you can make the required adjustments beforehand. To do so, click the Preview Email button.

Now, you can observe the following in your email preview:

  • The system will automatically pick the first lead’s information to display in the preview. In our case, the lead with the name “Henna” is at the top of the leads list.

  • The system will insert the corresponding values of the variables for the selected lead to display. For example,

    • {{first_name}}: Henna

    • {{custom_designation}}: Creative Director

    • {{company_name}}: Experis

  • The signature of the selected sender will be added. In our case, it’s Khadija Phool, so {{sender_signature}}: Khadija Phool ♊

💡You can set the sender profile for a campaign from the campaign Settings⚙️
